The Inclusive Ecosystem

Assistoken is being developed for people with disabilities who are expected to use financial services that were not designed around how they understand information, communicate, or decide.

Families and institutions are part of that picture. They should not automatically become the owners of the decision.

People with disabilities

The starting point is the person whose money it is.

Many people can enter a banking app and still not be able to work out what a payment, a balance, an agreement, or a consequence means for them.

Assistoken is exploring whether information and support can adapt so that person can:

  • understand the decision in front of them

  • see what it means in their own finances

  • choose, wait, or ask for help

  • stay at the centre of their own financial life

Not everyone needs the same thing.
Not every situation needs the same thing.
A diagnosis is not a support level.

Families and trusted supporters

Parents, siblings, guardians, staff, and other trusted people often carry the financial work when systems are hard to understand.

That support can be necessary and valuable.
It can also slide into control the person did not ask for.

Assistoken is not trying to remove those people.
It is trying to change the default:

  • the person understands as much as they can

  • a trusted person can be invited when that is needed or wanted

  • support is not the same as taking over

Too little support ← appropriate support → unnecessary control

Autonomy here does not mean “do it all alone.”
It means as much understanding, participation, and control as possible.

Institutions

Banks, payment providers, public services, municipalities, and organisations already sit in these decisions — as product owners, as case workers, as people who must follow both finance rules and disability rights.

Assistoken does not assume they must be replaced.

The question for institutions is whether adaptive financial information could sit with or alongside tools that already exist, so that:

  • inclusion is not only an accessible interface

  • staff are not the only way a decision becomes understandable

  • the person can remain the decision-maker more often

How that is built — layer, integration, separate experience — is not decided. That is work to do with institutions, not a claim that the architecture already exists.

Investors

If you are reading this as an investor, the users above are the thesis.

  • A large group is poorly served by standard digital finance

  • Current accessibility work often stops at access

  • Families and public systems already spend time and money compensating for that gap

  • The concept is a layer of understanding and support, not a new bank for its own sake

  • The project is early: direction defined, product not finished

Interest at this stage is a conversation, not a checkout.
